The painting depicts a scene of Santa Claus looking out of a window by candlelight on a snowy night. Santa is depicted without his hat, and he is shown with a thoughtful expression on his face as he gazes out at the wintry landscape before him. One can only imagine, outside the window, a snowy landscape stretches out into the distance, creating a sense of peaceful solitude. The overall mood of the painting is one of contemplation, as Santa seems to be lost in thought as he looks out at the world outside.
